Location: Avani Ibn Battuta Hotel, Dubai

Interviewer: Elif Kacmaz

SD Kids Magazine presents a special feature interview with Natalya Kovalyova, Founder of the internationally recognized children’s festival Little Miss & Little Mister United World, now celebrating its 23rd year. Our young reporter Elif Kacmaz sat down with Ms. Kovalyova for an inspiring conversation.

What inspired you to create this international competition?

Natalya:Twenty-three years ago, I realized that every girl dreams of becoming a princess. I wanted to create a celebration where children could show their talents and confidence. What began as a small event soon grew into a large international festival. The idea of making children feel like princesses and princes was my biggest inspiration.

As the founder, what do you focus on most when judging contestants?

Natalya: I pay attention to personality, communication skills, personal expression, and talent. But above all, the most important thing is to be friendly and happy.

How do you feel when you see so many talented kids from around the world?

Natalya: It’s a great achievement for both parents and the community. Talented kids grow into successful adults. With strong communication skills, they become ambassadors of their countries and nations.

What message would you like to share with all young participants today?

Natalya: I wish them to be happy and enjoy every moment of life. I hope they receive good education because education is the easiest way to success. Most importantly, I wish them to have a kind heart and become great people who will create a bright future for their nations.
